The UMKC Online team would like to take this opportunity to thank both Devon Cancilla and Melissa Messina for their invaluable contributions to the work done by our team and to the university. It is with sadness that we report that they both have left UMKC to take positions elsewhere.
Devon has joined the Online Learning Consortium as the Chief Knowledge Officer. Devon came to UMKC in August of 2013 and has assisted the university in joining SARA (the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement), operationalizing both course and faculty certification standards, instituting an online course fee to help the campus fully support the online students and established the eLearning Action Committee.
Melissa has begun a new position at Rockhurst University as the Director of Online Learning. Melissa came to UMKC Online in 2015 and worked on many important initiatives such as: BioSig pilot, the faculty certification course, and the OER System Initiative.
