The Instructional Design & Technology (ID/T) team consists of Instructional Designers and Technologists here to help you design quality online courses and practice using eLearning tools at UMKC. We offer a variety of face-to-face and online resources and experience to help you learn more about online learning:

Online training – Our online workshops introduce you to various eLearning tools and best practice strategies for our new Learning Management System, Canvas. Topics include (but are not limited to) assignments and the grade center in Canvas, TurnItIn, Panopto 101, Zoom, and many more. To register for a workshop, click on the workshop you’re interested in and select register.

LiveChat – We now offer a live chat option on our support website. LiveChat is a way to quickly ask your ID/T team questions during business hours.

Support webpage – Visit our support webpage for articles on Canvas, Panopto, Top Hat, Zoom and more. Click on the icon to learn more about each tool.

Course certification – Is your course online certified? If your course is an OA, OS or OC designation, you can participate in our online certification process. This process will help bring your course up to date with the latest requirements in online learning. Fill out the course certification request form on our website and someone from the ID/T team will be in touch.

Faculty certification – UMKC ID/T offers a self-paced course to walk you through the technological and pedagogical facets of teaching online. This month-long, self-paced course allows you to work at your own pace in an online format. Instructors who complete this course will receive a certificate from their ID/T course facilitator.

Contact us – If you would like to schedule a 1:1 course consultation, have general questions about eLearning or eLearning tools, or need technical assistance, please call 816.235.6700 or email its@umkc.edu
