5 Facts About NetTutor

NetTutor is a service available to all UMKC students and provides online tutoring help for more than 25 topics. Tutors for writing, math and humanities are available 24/7, while other topics have a varied schedule available on the tutoring webpage.

For interested faculty, here are some basic facts about NetTutor in your course. If you have additional questions, email online@umkc.edu.

Free to Use

UMKC students can receive tutoring in many subjects including biology, statistics, political science, Spanish, accounting and more! There are a variety of topics and tutors ready to help.

Easy to Access

Students can access NetTutor from the left hand navigation in Blackboard or from the NetTutor webpage.

Individual Help from Experienced Tutors

With 1:1 tutoring, students are connected with a live tutor and a whiteboard, welcomed by the tutor in the chat pod on the lower right hand side, and able to draw, type, and upload images onto the whiteboard. All of the tutors are highly educated in the topic they are assisting with.

Help with Papers

Students can upload papers to be reviewed by a tutor and receive feedback within 24 hours. Once it is complete, you can download your paper to review the edits.

Q & A Center

Students can submit a question and a tutor will respond. Students can edit the question after they submit it, download the question, or delete the question if has been resolved. Once the question is received, an email will be sent to the student’s UMKC account and he or she can sign back into NetTutor to see the response. Once a question is submitted, it will look like this:
